NFL Offseason - Free Agency through Minicamps

Report is Lions just traded for Ngata. I didn’t see that one coming, but I have always liked him much better than Suh.

But I can’t find anything yet about exactly what they traded for him.

Ngata is now a Lion.

Bummer to lose Ngata, but there was no way for that situation to turn out happily - the Ravens didn’t have the cap space to offer him anything like market value (and probably wouldn’t have paid him market value regardless), and he wasn’t going to restructure without a payday.

He might not be quite as good as Suh, but at least he’s not a psychopath.

Holy crap I love free agency!

Seattle gets Graham for picks and Max unger (booo I hate the seahawks)

Ngata to the lions for picks (Suh replacement…and not a bad one)

Sam Bradford to the Eagles for Picks and Nick Foles (not happened yet, but probably)

Owen Daniels to the Broncos (gotta replace thomas ya know)

Philly ships Nick Foles to STL for Sam Bradford? I like the last line in that article “should we stop assuming Chip Kelly knows what he’s doing?”

And now Jake Locker retires!

Two thoughts on da Bears:

1 - there is no real QB out there right now to get if they were to unload Cutler

2 - Fox knows stuff about Marshall after coaching in Denver and bringing him to Chicago for Cutler was a bust.

Okay, 3 thoughts.

3 - this year they are going to rebuild the defense

I’m probably 100% wrong on all of this, but then again, it’s what I’d do.

Yeah, that’s what everything I’ve read says. Pretty discouraging for a guy making almost as much as Jerry Hughes. Not that Hughes is a great fit in a 3-4, but he’s a hell of a lot more productive.

Some people were talking about the Rams as a potential trade destination for Cutler. Not sure if this makes that more or less likely, they certainly save money with Bradford leaving but if they view Foles as a starter in the league then he’s their answer at QB.

I know football is a horrible grind, but stuff like this always shocks me. Locker could have gotten Josh McCown’s contract and maybe better on the open market. Hope he is secure and happy with this choice 3-4 years from now.

PFT thinks that Darrelle Revis is going back to the Jets. Looks like the Jets are desperately trying to win the offseason.

The Bears are being pretty quiet, hopefully just waiting for prices to drop after the big first wave. Though maybe they are distracted and using all their time to work the Cutler market if there is one.

EDIT: Just saw that the Bears are apparently landing Antrel Rolle. Good in that we need some help at Safety, bad in that Rolle was pretty far down my list of guys I wanted. Too old.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

:mad::(:eek::confused:

4th and 5th rounder to BAL, Ngata and 7th rounder to DET.

A lot better than the 6th rounder the Ravens got for Boldin, at least.

At least he’s been fairly durable throughout his career, which would bring something to the position.

I’m really pretty aghast at this. It’s apparently Bradford and a 2; I think Kelly’s getting taken here.

I think a huge part of it is the injuries; the football grind is one thing, the endless rehabbing for him is another.

Proving once again that trading quarterbacks is rare but not unusual.

No problem with it at all then. It’s kind of funny I was saying last week with Levy and Tuloch as the two best players on D now, and the D line issues they should go to a 3-4.

Maybe they had the same idea

I mean, I’m not even sure Sam Bradford is better at football than Nick Foles straight up.

Yeah, this is a really, really odd move.

Just saw a report that the Bears are closing in on Eddie Royal. Will be eager to hear what the money is like, but he’s a good compliment to what the Bears have. Assuming he hasn’t lost a step.

Stupid is more like it. I don’t blame Chip Kelly. I blame Jeffrie Lurie for caving in and giving him the power to something this stupid. Chip Kelly might get fired before the draft.

We went from the fantasy of moving up to draft for Mariotta, to the possibility of trading for Kaepernick, to complete and utter bullshit. I got laughed at for overrating when the Eagles lost to Washington in December and saying Chip Kelly should have been fired; now I feel vindicated. This guy is a egmomaniacal fraud who ran out of college football because of NCAA violations and used a hocus pocus system that fooled the NFL for 1 1/2 seasons that got exposed this past December. The Eagles will be lucky to win 5 games in 2015, and hopefully this jackass will get run out of town on a rail.
