I will compile the top and bottom 10 teams of the NFL. This will be done every Tuesday now… sorta like a POWER RANKINGS kind of thing. I’ll even round up a list of the TOP 3 Players and Top 3 Goats of the week as well. I urge some of you to chime on your lists as well. 🙂

**TOP 10**

**1. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS** : Did they just do that to the would-be Super Bowl contenders, the Pittsburgh Steelers?
**2. OAKLAND RAIDERS** : Looked very impressive against the Seahawks by RUNNING all over them.
**3. MIAMI DOLPHINS** : They looked really good with Ricky Williams in the backfield. Then again, they WERE against the Lions.
**4. DENVER BRONCOS** : Yes, they beat the Rams. But what if this was Brian Griese’s only moment in the sun this year?
**5. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS** : They played ugly last Thursday but still managed to get the win.
**6. CHICAGO BEARS** : Their comeback against a rejuvenated Minnesota offense was most impressive.
**7. TENNESEE TITANS** : They lost Jevon Kearse but if you beat a team like Phillie, you SHOULD deserve kudos.
**8. GREEN BAY PACKERS** : Brett Favre overcame a fired-up Michael Vick for the win.
**9. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS** : Aside from the fourth quarter, they were all over the Bucs.
**10. NEW YORK JETS** : They’re on a winning streak. Of course, that was preseason…

**BOTTOM 10**

**23. NEW YORK GIANTS** : Michael Strahan wasn’t happy that he didn’t get a gift from Jeff Garcia.
**24. PITTSBURGH STEELERS** : Thanks for making me look like a jackass in my fantasy league!
**25. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS** : All the hoopla for Jon Gruden and they couldn’t beat a suspect Saints team.
**26. CLEVELAND BROWNS** : If the fans wanted to throw debris on the field, I’d aim for #57.
**27. CAROLINA PANTHERS** : Sure they won this game but Week 1 tends to be special for these cats.
**28. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS** : They were SUPPOSED to run over the Raiders.
**29. DETROIT LIONS** : It’s the Lions. There’s nothing else to say.
**30. DALLAS COWBOYS** : Quincy Carter this week looked like Quincy Carter of this time last year.
**31. CINCINNATI BENGALS** : Getting blown out by the Chargers. Must be rough.
**32. BALTIMORE RAVENS** : It’s nice that your D is still there. But everybody’s supposed to hold Carolina at 10 PPG.

**Top 3 Players of the week:**

1. **Tom Brady** - 29-43 for 294 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT

Flashes of Joe Montana in the pocket. So poised against the Steelers’ D.

1. **Robert Edwards** - 2 rushing TDs

This guy came back from a serious potential career-ending broken heel. Welcome back after 3 years.

1. **David Carr** - 10-22 for 145 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Not a pretty stat line, but showed proof that he has a rocket for an arm with that 60 yard near-bomb to the endzone near halftime. BTW, he threw the ball near 60 yards on a 5 step drop, 3 step push. Anyhow, he led his expansion team to something hasn’t been done in 41 years – win their first game.
**Top 3 goats of the week:**

1. **Quincy Carter** - 13-30 for 131 yards, 1 INT

All hypes from preseason were deflated with this horrible performance.

1. **Marshall Faulk** - 10 carries, 19 yards

Though he caught 14 passes for 91 yards, this was his worst rushing game in a long time.

1. **Kerry Collins** - K Collins 28-45 For 339 Yards, 3 INT

An unimpressive 300 yard passing performance.
