Took it on the chin hard last week, barely breaking the .500 mark at 8-7. 97-46 overall keeps me one game up on the best at the Sporting News. I don’t mind a few upsets, but let’s hope there aren’t as many _big_ upsets this week (I’m talking to you Colts, Rams, and Vikes – collectively 20-4 going in, 0-4 last week). **Cardinals 20 at Vikings 35** (With the Rams ailing, the Vikes offense is now the most explosive around. One tip though, when you go for a field goal on third down and it’s a bad snap, it’s ok to spike the ball.) **Falcons 17 at Lions 13** (What the hell kind of competitor, as Ross claims to be, resigns mid-season with a winning record? I make this pick out of competitive spite.) **Ravens 20 at Titans 27** (I know, everything else you’ve read said this will be a really low scoring affair. I think the defenses may tire a bit near the end though.) **Seahawks 13 at Jaguars 20** (Is anybody _actually_ reading the comments to this game? Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? If so I can’t imagine why…) **Bears 16 at Bills 23** (Nice game last week Midgets of the Midway. As a prize you get to face a tough defense in a tough environment. Congrats.) **Bengals 17 at Cowboys 21** (First Galloway, now Ismail. Apparently ACL stands for **A** ll **C** owboys **L** imp.) **Patriots 24 at Browns 6** (I pick on the Patsies because they can’t seem to win, but truth be told, New England and San Diego still scare a lot of teams.) **Saints 24 at Panthers 13** (Those amazing Saints! You figure you’ll stack the line to stop Williams, so they beat you deep. Then you get to face _their_ defense.) **Eagles at Steelers** (Five D’s decide it. Philly **D** , Steeler **D** , and **D** ermonti **D** awson is **D** oubtful.) **Dolphins 13 at Chargers 0** (If Harbaugh were playing, I’d _consider_ another upset call for San Diego. But, the name’s Moreno not Marino.) **Chiefs 32 at 49ers 20** (Here’s how bad the Niners’ secondary is – they’ve actually been trying Owens and Stokes on _defense_ in practice.) **Packers 13 at Buccaneers 23** (Lambeau Luck should become a new sports term. To quote **Sledman** , “Can you say ESPY?”) **Rams 21 at Giants 24** (Some sports math: O + G - (W + F + D) = RL. Outdoors and on Grass without Warner, Faulk, and no Defense equals a Rams Loss.) **Jets 22 at Colts 27** (Is there any part of Testeverde’s body that isn’t injured in some way or another?) **Raiders 28 at Broncos 30** (I’d be interested in seeing what the percentages are on taking the “over” in Monday Night games for the last couple of seasons. I’d wager it’s been a pretty good bet, they always seem to be pretty high scoring affairs.) If I go 8-7 or worse again, I’m going to let my beagle, Jake, make the picks for me. p.s. **Rams 21 at Giants 24** (Some sports math: O + G - (W + F + D) = RL. Outdoors and on Grass without Warner, Faulk, and no Defense equals a Rams Loss.) My only complaint with this statement is that Warner should be taken out of the equation. Trent Green threw for 400+ yards with 2 TD passes and no interceptions last game. In fact, he threw the game-winning TD that was negated due to a Ram’s penalty. Missing Warner isn’t the problem - it’s missing Faulk and a good defense. ---

Your faith in your little birdies is kinda cute. I like that. You do know that the Steelrs haven’t allowed a TD in 20 quarters, don’t you? I’ll accept the bet. The Eagles will beat the Steelers on Sunday afternoon. If and when the Eagles win, I shall write **mouthbreather** ’s new sig, which he will keep for exactly one week. In the unlikely and unfortunate event that the Steelers somehow bribe the officials and steal a victory from the superior Eagles, he will do what **Satan** did two weeks ago and write my new sig for me. Hopefully he’ll be a bit kinder upon writing it, but since the Eagles are going to win, anyway, we don’t have to worry about that. 🙂 **GO EAGLES!!!** ---
