Hey did you know that the Eagles had a play in the Super Bowl called the Philly Special?

I heard that they’re going to move that new statue to the Art Museum.

> Meh. The call FGIE mentioned clearly was bullshit, but, from what I saw, most of the other penalties were just sloppy Week 1 play. False Starts. Holding. NZI, etc. Especially when there were like 6 or 7 penalties on special teams, which is typically the young, inexperienced players who are more likely to commit penalties.

Another thing in that game that was bullshit was a play or two after that roughing the passer BS was the non-call on PI by the Atlanta defender. He had clearly hooked his arm and even Al and Chris were like “Erm…well…that DOES look like pass interference there…”

I’ll probably post a bunch tomorrow while watching the games, but I wanted to get this on the record.

The Bears are beating the Packers tomorrow and it’s not going to be very close. The defense is going to go batshit on them and the Cheeseheads are gonna be shellshocked. Shock and Awe baby. A healthy offensive line is going to gash that shoddy defense and Mitch will stay clean all game. Giddy up.

> I’m not aboard the Browns bandwagon by a long shot, but it is worth noting that, last year, the Steelers only beat them by 3 in Cleveland Week 1, and by 4 at Heinz on Week 17. [2017 Pittsburgh Steelers season - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Pittsburgh_Steelers_season)
>
> Given that, +4.5 might not be a bad bet. I prefer taking the Texans and 6.5—I think that this is the year that Brady shows feet of clay—as well as the Rams laying 4.5 to the Mack-less Raiders, but taking Cleveland and points is interesting.

Week 17 was a joke. Nobody Pittsburgh had backups for played in that game. They benched everybody they could. It was Landry Fucking Jones leading a team that had nothing at stake versus a team that had one last chance to win a game pulling out all the stops, and they still couldn’t do it.

That was last year, of course, and Cleveland is significantly different this year so there’s no comparison. Every game for the Browns will be a learning experience. And, of course, Pittsburgh doesn’t have Bell today. But to say that Pittsburgh eked out a win and carrying that forward to indicate a potential result this year is ridiculous.

That explains Week 17. Now explain winning by three in Week 1 with Ben leading them. Text is hard to convey interpersonal communication, but you’re coming off way more butt-hurt about this than a fan of a 13-3 team really should be.

Jeez, they’re favored by 4.5 on the road, in a situation where they only won by three last year and they don’t have Bell. I would’ve expected you guys to demolish them in both games last year, or at least beat them by more than the spread in this game today, and I found it strange they didn’t. Thanks for explaining why.

Week 1 was week 1 and it’s the only preseason game that counts.

Just like today.

And butthurt isn’t exactly the emotion. Pittsburgh has two problems today:

1. They never fail to play down to their opponent. Rare indeed is a Pittsburgh blowout.

2. Cleveland is much, much better than they were last year.

Think of it as equal parts butthurt, apprehesion, and hopefulness.

Shawn Williams of the Bengals ejected because of the helmet rule. It was a pretty cheap shot. Bengals are going to be hurting the rest of the game.

I don’t think he should have been ejected, just penalized and fined. It was a late hit on a QB.

And it’s doubtful that the Bengals will be hurting as a result of that. The offense should be able to control this game. Too many skill players that are good and the Colts defense sucks. Bengals front seven on D should be able to manage going forward as well.

The penalty for sure, as it was late. I think that it was obviously bang on helmet to helmet and not more incidental contact that got the ejection. Unlike a lot of examples from the preseason, I could see that one in real time.

As of right now, less than 50% completion percentage and 2 interceptions.
