I’m going to the Packers / Vikings game on Sunday (my one chance per year to actually use my Packer season tickets myself). After the whipping they took at the hands of the Giants, and AP’s strong performances in recent weeks, I wish I felt more bullish about the Packers’ chances than I do. ---

Yeah, but the Vikings, and in particular Christian Ponder, looked awful against the Bears. A good chunk of that is the loss of Percy Harvin, who looks to be a bit of a longshot to make a start, but I’m not sure the Vikings offense (outside of AP) scares me at all. The Packer injuries are still bad, but at home against the Vikings? I’m not too worried. ---

Yuck. Brees lost his consecutive games with a TD pass streak, and throws 5 official INT, with another one negated by a penalty. Atlanta earned the win tonight. Kudos to them. ---

I can see as many as 25% of the teams in the NFL firing their head coaches this year. To be honest, I’d probably fire 12 of them. Last year, there were 7 coaches fired, we’ll see if that many happens again. Likely to be on the chopping block: Rex Ryan, Jets Pat Shurmer (and Mike Holmgren), Browns Norv Turner, Chargers Romeo Crennel, Chiefs Andy Reid, Eagles Iffy, but I’d fire Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals. Chan Gailey, Bills Jason Garrett, Cowboys Too early to tell? I don’t think so. Ron Rivera, Panthers Jim Schwartz, Lions Mike Munchak, Titans Mike Mularkey, Jaguars Dennis Allen, Raiders ---
