Yes; what was often a valid sack in the old days would draw a penalty today.

There are so many different ways you can nitpick to determine whose sack totals are more valid than another person’s. When you go down that road, you ultimately make the statistic meaningless.

The stat is recording the total number of sacks in a season. So just compare the total number of sacks in a season. It’s not hard.

> Regarding Strahan’s sack, people always talk about Favre laying down for him but it was like 7 yd into the backfield moments after the ball was snapped. If anyone should get shit about that it should be the offensive lineman that just let Strahan walk past him.

The biggest complaint was that Favre audibled to a pass play when they should have been running out the clock at the time.

Tampa Bay stayed alive with a win over Carolina, but, alas, the Falcons victory over the Saints on Sunday allowed the Panthers to sneak into the playoffs with an 8-9 record. Both the Eagles and Bears lost on Sunday, so Chicago kept the #2 NFC seed. The Jaguars and Texans both won, meaning the Jags…
