> He had 52 catches for 600 yards last season at 11.5 per catch and 3 TD’s as a rookie. He is a pretty good wideout and slot receiver.

He’s no Jason Avant.

The Bengals drafted AJ Green, showing their lack of belief that Shipley can be a #1. Shipley was the 67th yardage rated WR last year, and is the 3rd best WR on his own team. Sure, he’s a fine slot receiver, but c’mon, he’s easily replaceable. When you lose someone like Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster, or, for the Packers, Nick Collins (who’s been to multiple pro bowls), then I have more sympathy for your injury concerns. But Shipley? Not even close.

While I agree with you on paper, he was going to be an important part of this new WCO the Bengals are running which was supposed to keep Dalton from having to win games with his arm, although with the second half Dalton uncorked in Denver with two 100 yard receivers I have a feeling the playbook will be opened up some.

Its really just a matter of not liking ANY starter on your favorite team getting injured.

He was afraid to say anything bad about the **GIANTS** with Lawrence Taylor in attendance.

Oh, I agree. It sucks to lose a starter to injury. But injuries are a part of football (unless you’re the 2010 Bears) and you’re going to lose starters along the way. It’s unseemly, however, to bitch about losing a slot receiver, when the Chiefs lose their best offensive player and their best defensive player for the season, the Packers lose their pro-bowl FS, the Broncos play game 2 without a whole heap of their starters, and on and on.

That’s been said a handful of times on ESPN. I think Tamba Hali should be very very pissed about this.

Damn it, damn it, damn it.

Braylon Edwards is out indefinitely after having surgery on the knee he tweaked early in the 49ers’car loss to the Coyboys. As if opposing defenses needed more excuses to stack the box against us.

I’m torn. I loathe Fox and Cutler more or less equally. Don’t make me defend one of them!

Now the Bengals #2 wideout, Jerome Simpson, along with backup tackle Anthony Collins, look to be in huge trouble for a marijuana distribution operation that got busted yesterday when a person in Simpson’s Kentucky home signed for a package containing 2.5 pounds of high-grade Northern California weed…and the cops found a meager 6 more pounds along with scales, baggies, etc when they searched the house…the Bengals are at it again!

Ah those Bungles, when will they ever learn? Them and the Raiders, always making the NFL a dramedy. Maybe if the Bengals started drafting like the Raiders they would be fast enough to outrun the cops instead of getting caught every time.
