Slightly likely. Hopefully your cow workers are honest enough to admit that they are only in first place (division-wise) because they haven’t faced the Bronc-hoes yet and are probably not going to win the SB.

Sam Bradford had a pass deflected for a Pick 6 on the first play of the game. That always messes up the script.

Probably should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty at the end of the pick 6. Grab your crotch and go to the ground to celebrate? How is that not taunting?

Aside from “slightly likely,” everything **Mince** said is true. Because schedule is determined partially by your previous year’s record, KC plays a slate of pretty underpowered opponents this season. They’re 6-0, but the six teams they’ve beaten are a combined 11-25. The Chiefs’ two toughest games of the year are going to be the home-and-away against Denver; aside from the Broncos, they’ll face just one other team (Indy) that currently has a winning record. KC is a good team playing (and beating) bad teams, but they’re probably not as good as their record might lead you to believe.
As far as “probably not going to win the Super Bowl” goes… well, on shit - there are 31 teams every year that don’t win the Super Bowl. There’s a lot of football to be played between now and February, and there’s no single team that is “probably” going to win the Super Bowl. Even the consensus favorite (Denver) is getting 5:2 odds. “Most likely,” yes; “probably,” no.

Jay Cutler has left the game after injuring his sack during a sack. The announcer said something unintentionally comical, like “you can tell that he’s injured his groin; he can barely go up the tunnel.”

14 of the 16 regular season games that KC plays this year are the same as Denver’s game. Last year’s record only affects two games, neither of which has KC played yet. Both teams get to beat up on the NFC East, the AFC South, and the rest of the AFC West. So if your argument is that KC gets to fatten up on weak teams, then the same is true of Denver.
Which isn’t to say you’re wrong. Just that Denver largely benefits from the same effect.

The Rams are a very undisciplined team. It’s been a chippy game, but they’ve had one ejection and a few costly dumb penalties. Sam Bradford just got injured too.

Can someone explain the penalty that New England got on the Jets missed FG in OT ? NE pushed one of their own players into someone or something like that?

Two defenders can’t combine their advance and one push another from behind to channel their efforts. New rule, not soon forgotton considering it cost NE the game.
And don’t look now but Texans QB Keenum is looking quite respectable with a TD pass and the lead in Q2.

One of the core differences between American football and rugby is that in football, you aren’t allowed to “pool your resources.” Each man must stand on his own.
As an example, in rugby you can pick up a teammate to block a throw. In football, you cannot pick up a teammate, or step on the back of a teammate who is crouched down in order to jump up higher to block a kick, or push a teammate through the pile to try and collapse the pocket on the kicker, etc… That last one is what the flag was called for.

It’s not a new rule; it’s one of the defining characteristics of American football. I don’t actually know, but my guess is that it dates back to the “flying wedge” days of the 50s.

I though the previous iteration was that you couldn’t jump or launch off another teammate, like to jump on his back to gain elevation. This interpretation, pushing a teammate ahead isn’t new? Must have misheard the analyst that said it was.

Nothing happened to Kelly. Nick Foles was horrendous and none of the Eagles WRs could beat press man (they haven’t been able to for years). And when the Eagles had chances, Foles missed every time. Just an awful game from the offense. The first they’ve had, by the way.
I want to know what happened to Foles. He looked atrocious. He didn’t show me a single thing that makes me think he has a chance in this league. Very troubling after looking very good the week before.

I’m not going to unfairly speak to the likelyhood as it’s near halftime but a couple of emotion points worth are recognizing. Bum Phillips, a beloved Houston Oilers head coach just passed. His son Wade is the Texans defensive coordinator. Texans D has lots of motivation today.
Kase Keenum, U of H QB is having his first start. 19,000 + collegiate passing yards. 3 5000 yard seasons, something like 155 TD passes, and undrafted. He’s a gym rat, first in and last to leave, knows the playbook back and forward, etc. He comes in for the QB that just set a record for pick 6s. So the offense is motivated.
It’s been a much better and closer game than expected.

Implemented this past offseason; Rule 9-1-3
Team B players cannot push teammates on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation.
