Since there is no thread yet, and I don’t have the time to do my usual, I’ll just start this one quick. The Broncos/Jags game was nice and close, with some quite good defensive play on both sides of the ball. But anyone hoping for a good offensive showing was disappointed. I still don’t know what to make of Russell Wilson. I have liked him since college, but I can’t tell if his clueless idiocy (really Russell? Every single time you play poorly, you retroactively had a huge injury? And doing “high knees” on the plane ride to England? 🙄 ) or an act. His prior teammates don’t seem to have a lot of great things to say, but he could just be as clueless and dorky as he appears. Who knows? ---

Seahawks that were supposed the NFC doormat this season are not only in the sole lead of the West division, they have the 5th best record in the NFC. And they are favored against the Giants. The Eagles vs the Stealers game looks like a D1 v D3 college game. Who had AJ Brown and/or Hurts in your fantasy league? Congratulations on your win this week. ---

What’s up with the uniforms in the Cowboys/Bears game? The Cowboys are in blue jerseys, and the Bears in orange; except for the color-rush things on Thursday nights I’ve never seen a game where one team wasn’t wearing white. And why are the Cowboys in blue at home? ---

I was going to say the Giants struggle in Seattle, but apparently I’m still hung up on that Jay Feely game from 20 years ago. Google says Giants are 4-5 in Seattle; I would have guessed 2-8. Giants did win the last meeting in 2020. ---

You’re preaching to the choir. I’m a Seattle fan watching the Giants/Seahawks game here where I live near Seattle. I’m just opining on what the NFL and/or network was thinking in picking that game. ---

It was a crazy good game, actually. They traded leads all day, like two journeymen palooka boxers. Panthers should have won in the last seconds with a great long TD pass, but DJ Moore lost his head (well, helmet) during the celebration and the kicker missed the extended extra point. In OT the Panthers picked off Mariota and the same (ex) kicker missed a short FG. Then the Falcons (good) kicker won the game. ---

Daniel Jones doesn’t look like a real quarterback at all to me so far in this game. On only one play, a short pass to Wandale Robinson, did he look like a competent passer to my eye. I don’t have high hopes for this 2-minute drive but fingers crossed! By contrast, Geno looks like a real quarterback, no question. I cracked up with the stat about how the last time the Giants started a game with three consecutive 3&outs was Geno’s one and only start that ended Eli’s streak. In this game he looks good. Most of Seattle’s punts are from good individual plays by Giants defenders. Defense looks solid. Pass rush is getting home, and I’m pleased with how well Adoree Jackson is holding up in single coverage. ---

That strip of Lockett was a great play and led to New York’s only points, and keeping Seattle to a FG late in the first quarter was huge. I expect this game to be close all the way through. ---
