Mainly because I’m in Pakistan.
I never realized just how messed up things were in Pakistan. Even while living in Pakistan, I was just going to school, visiting relatives, etc. I lived in a better-developed area of Karachi. I as very sheltered. (Until I was carjacked, but that’s another story.)
Now I am in the middle of the city and actually working here. It just amazes me to no end how messed up this place is. And, believe me, half of it I haven’t even posted.
As mentioned before, I’m sharing these for two major reasons:
- To let people (especially those in the West) know what it’s like in other countries, and
- To get this stuff off my chest.
I certainly took America and its wonderfulness so much for granted. Never again.
WRS - Appreciate what’s around you; because in some places people can’t even dream of what you have.
And things are pretty bad there.
