The Oilers get 25 out of a possible 30 points in the month of February. The Golden Knights and the Kings have also been red-hot since the All-Star break. ---

Pleased to report the Canucks have snapped their 134-games-without-a-shutout streak (NHL record - YAAAAY!) tonight with a 2-0 win over a Chicago Blackhawks team that iced the puck more than any other team I’ve ever seen. I wanted to kill them. ---

Missed edit window: Interesting (actually no not quite the word I’m looking for) that my teams the Flyers and Canucks have turned out to be the most abominably dysfunctional, crappy, poo-ridden dross. ---

The three longest current playoff streaks ended this year. Penguins at 16 and both the Caps and Predators at 8. In a scheduling quirk and a trade, Garnet Hathaway has already played 83 games, 59 with Washington and 24 with Boston. ---

Agreed; listening to some of his comments in the last couple of weeks, since he got back on the ice, it’s clear to me that he realizes his body is just not up to the task anymore, and he’s absolutely exhausted. He’s been a great player, and leader, for the Hawks, and it’s sad to see him have to go out this way, but at least he was able to get a proper send-off from the team and fans. ---

Ehh, not quite. The Central winner depends on whether Colorado wins or loses tonight. I’d like them lose and the Stars to face the Kraken in the first round, but that’s not a sure thing at the moment. ---
