If Crosby was the youngest captain ever, how old was Yzerman when he became captain of the Red Wings?
Action filled first period.Wings are definately the better team, give us the Cup!!!
He was 21.
Wings were definitely the better team for the first 12 minutes. The Penguins owned them the last 8. Two VERY different halves to that period. Should be an interesting rest of the game.
YES!
+1
Right off the faceoff too.
As an aside, I absolutely love the Verizon “Hockey fans aren’t like other fans.”
“LOSER. LOSER. BEST BABY IN THE WORLD!!!”
Another aside: Fleury made the funny papers.
I like the “fantasy” one.
Abdelkader gets another one!
Helm last series. Abdelkader this series. How do you like the depth of Detroit?
God I hate the Red Wings. And what’s the deal with the hockey gods? How many breaks has Detroit had this series (um…let’s see, two of the three goals in game 1), and how many BAD breaks have the Pens had this game…multiple posts just skipping by…it’s just really, really frustrating. Also, this ‘let’s not call anything’ reffing crap has prevented at least 3 good scoring opportunities by the Pens and directly led to Detroit’s second goal, which should have been a Pens powerplay…sorry, a slash that breaks a stick is an automatic penalty, and the fact that that wasn’t called is atrocious.
I think I hear crying already.
Malkin and Zetterburg scrapping it up!
Now Pittsburgh is down to “sending a message.” Malkin swinging at Zetterberg with his stick still in his hands. How nice.
Why?
Settle down. The noncalls have equally hurt and benefitted both teams pretty much equally.
And it’s 2-0 Detroit in the series heading back into Pittsburgh. Biggest thing that Pittsburgh has had problems with is Detroit’s depth.
2-0 Wings now. 8 total goals.
Crosby grabbed the Prince of Wales trophy at the RBC center Tuesday.
Harborwolf, if the Canes had half of you defense depth, we’d have a rematch of 2002. Your GM and scouting department rocks.
