That was a quick thread. It was over before anyone saw it. So I have a question now: If I start a thread saying “Fuck you (poster)” what is the rule, for me? I mean me, now. It seems like it’s not that big a deal, right now, for mods. But I have a feeling it could become one very fast. Am I getting warm? ---

I was bothered enough by the gap between the rules as stated and as applied to [start a thread about it](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=839631). I got [a pretty good answer](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20555155&postcount=5) from **Fenris** in that thread. I think he’s probably pretty much on target. YMMV, of course, but it’s consistent with what the mods have done. ---

Not a mod, but I would guess that the fallout from any such hijinks would leave you mad, the mods irritated and Wordman unaffected. Probably best not to poke the bear. ---
