# Nice try, George, Fuck you anyway.

He’s getting some hell from the right on this, too. I saw a tidbit of some woman who appeared to be a spokesperson for some anti- group saying they were unhappy because they wanted to “slam the door shut and throw away the key” - how compassionate.

That’s the part about this that just galls me… “We care so much about the blastocysts! Oh, your child is gagging on mucous and dead at 15 from systic fibrosis? Too bad. Dead of diabetes. Tough titties. Your life is a living hell because you twitch and spasm all day with Parkinson’s …oh well, tough luck! Because we are so full of love, compassion and concern for the human beings made up of 8 cells that we feel it’s just fine to sacrifice all the real human beings who are suffering. Oh, and yeah, we know the ones we’re so concerned about will never develop beyond that point anyway, but still… we’ve prevented any extra blastocysts the horrible fate of being created just to be experimented on!”

It’s just nauseating. And completely irrational. And deeply shameful.

By the way, just for the record, I can respect the opinion of those who are against it because they hold the libertarian view that the government shouldn’t be funding anything. I completely disagree, but that’s another debate for another day.
