It’s Wikkit, or wikkit, or WIKKIT. It’s not wicket, or wicket, or any other wikkit-sounding word. It is absolutely not wocket, or wacket, or any non-wikkit word. IT IS NOT FROM FUCKING STAR WARS, YOU USELESS GEEK SHITHEAD. I do not use the name of an ewok; I wouldn’t have picked this nick if I knew that the stupid geek population would think that it had anything to do with Star Wars. I chose it because it is identifiable and I’ve never been anywhere where it was already taken. Thankfully, this forum seems good at getting nicks correct; so this isn’t directed at SMDB people, unless you plan on misspelling it in the future. I am male, but I don’t consider Wikkit a particularly masculine name, so I won’t even mind if you think I’m female. Worse things have happened. Note that I said ‘stupid geek population’. That should be parsed as (stupid geek) population, not stupid (geek population). I’m proud to be a geek. The literate geeks know what a wikkit is. The smart non-geeks can easily guess. Feel free to add your nick rant. I know the more experienced BBQers can make a much better rant. ---

[sub]gettin’ jiggy wikkit?[/sub] so…you’re _not_ an ewok? awwwwww… As rants go, I give this about a 4.5. Given that “poohpah” is misspelled here as often as it is spelled correctly, I’ve simply accepted it. No big deal. ---

**pupa** ’s got a point, **Wikkit** 😃 Seriously now. Some people have the eye for names. Some people are the type to make it a point to call people by their (correctly spelled) name. Others, well, don’t give a rat’s ass. You’ve got three possible solutions: 1) angrily correct them, 2) pleasantly correct them, or 3) accept the fact that you have a name that only one ouf of five people can spell correctly. By far, the easiest is number 3. Trust me. I’m an **Audrey**. An amazingly small number of people can spell my name correctly. I’ve seen it spelled a dozen different ways. My last name is fairly unique. After a while, you get used to having to spell out your name. If that wasn’t bad enough, I live in Hawaii, where Hawaiian street and city names rule. You can imagine how long it takes for me to verbally give my address to someone on or from the mainland. I have to spell out at least four words. Anyway, I digress. As I said in another thread-- you’ll live longer if you start letting stuff like this go. ---

My IRL name is Kathryn. My lease was mailed to me in an envelope to Katherine. I have credit cards (where I spelled the name letter by letter to the person making it or filled out a form in print.) for Catherine, Katherine, Kathyrn, and Kathie. Sigh. ---

OK, I give up. For the illiterate geeks and stupid non-geeks, can you please tell us what a Wikkit is? I did a Google search but mostly came up with usernames and the occasional surname. Please don’t fly into another implacable rage. Just humour me and explain it. ---

They’re mailing me information packets on their places, and both of the packets I received today had little personal touches in them: a handwritten thank you card, and a typed letter. Whoever wrote out the card spelled my name **Adurey**. I supposed it’s a passable spelling. I’m totally amused. 🙂 ---

Oh, name misspelling. I still can’t figure out how otherwise spelling-able people can spell my nick as “ **Kantolopii** ” or some monstrosity like that. ---
