I am running short on time (gotta go to work) but I wanted to hit a few points. First off, congrats Nicklz, to getting the different job. Good for you. Go where you are appreciated. Calling the new hire a “little fucker” is also needlessly hostile. THEY DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS SITUATION. Even if the new hire were to leave (after he saw how everyone was _oozing_ hostility 😃 ) it wouldn’t fix or change anything. The employer would just hire someone else. So, once again: in this situation _the new hire is not the one who has the power to take your hours, or take food off your table._ ---

No he would leave, because his yosemitebabe enforced desire to be charitable would not allow him to remain in a position that is reducing his coworkers income. Hiring someone else wouldn’t work because everone must do the charitable thing and quit, once they know they are reducing their coworkers income. Quick summary: I’d be pissed. You think I shouldn’t be pissed. Sometimes non-combatants get in the line of fire. ---
