I like Nickrz! He’s funny, smart, cool and he singled out my “lick my piss flaps” as one of his all time favorite insults, thereby showing himself to be a man of refined taste.

He’s not particularly helpful. I was disappointed with his response to my ‘‘periodontal’’ OP about a month ago: http://www.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/002820.html
He never even tried to give a serious answer to the question I asked. Instead, he suggested I have bad breath, my gums bleed, and my teeth will soon fall out. Maybe this was his idea of being funny.
I pressed him for the straight dope, and he ignored me.
One does have to give him credit in the nukes in space thread. He did try to supply evidence supporting his position, (anti space nuke treaty) And when shown solid proof against his argument, he admitted error and even thanked the poster who supplied it.
If not for his spirited counter argument, that cite probably would not have been dug up and the board would be one decent thread short.
It’s all about debate folks, sometimes you win sometime you lose. But it is much more satisfying to beat a moderator in his own forum. (not that I would know)
Nickrz isn’t a troll in the true sense of the word, but he sure-as-damn-hell isn’t what I’d call a good moderator.
He alternates between being a pompous, swaggering, overinflated prick with a massive Napoleon complex, and a dim-witted punk who sees it as his mission in life to interject feeble one-liners at every opportunity.
Neither side of Nickrz is particularly appealing.
On occasion, he will actually do something like moderating by moving inappropriately-placed threads out of General Questions and into a more suitable home, or providing links to pertinent topics. At those times, he’s doing a great job as a moderator.
Unfortunately, his “moderator” side is dwarfed by his “prick” side.

I’ll go with pompous, unhelpful and mean.
