I was wondering who that girl was. Is the look of absolute concentration before a tennis match part of her actual persona, or was it merely assumed for the ad, do you think? ---

The thing is, she didn’t _look_ pretty at all in the add, just rather angry. ---

Didn’t like it, though I didn’t know who she was, and she looked more pissed off than pretty. I guess I get it now. One wonders; if she got hit in the nose with a ball Marsha Brady style, would she miss all the “I Feel Pretty” talk? ---

I saw this commercial for the first time this morning. I especially liked how they concentrate on her unsmiling face during the “such a pretty smile” line 🙂 ---

I thought it was hilarious. It did a great job mocking those who focus solely on her looks. In this sense Nike was able to have its cake and eat it too. ---

It would’ve been better if she was in skimpier clothing. I’m a huge fan of hers, I didn’t know she played tennis though. 😃 ---

Interesting. I like the idea, but the execution left a lot to be desired. Nike, if you’re going to have people sing in your commercials, get people who are good at it. Like the song or not, I can’t see any reason to butcher it. Secondly, while the message of the commercial is that she wants to be seen as a serious athlete, it only exists because she’s a babe. If you really want to be taken seriously, don’t make the commercial at all. She’s a babe, she’s a great tennis player, but SHUT THE HELL UP!
