What are the Nikon lenses that you currently have?
Only two, but they’re Nikkor and not aftermarket. There’s the 50 mm, and hte 28-85 mm. I thought I had a 24 mm, but that one goes with the Pentax. Oh, and I have a couple of 35 mm lenses on the Nikonos IV and the Nikonos V. 
Is the 50mm a fast lens? There are many versions of the 50mm and some of them are fairly inexpensive so they wouldn’t be difficult to replace. I don’t know if the 28-85 is a great lens or not.
No, it’s the cheap lens. f1.8. The zoom is f3.5-4.5.

Like Baal I have a D90. I had a succession of so-so point and click cameras and wanted a “serious” rig. I have a buddy with a D90 who sold me on its merits.
I know nothing about photo composition, etc. but I have taken some killer pics with the stock lens. And the HD video looks great. I agree that the D90 is a heavy and huge camera. That’s the only negative about it as far as I see it. And watching your pics on your HD TV means that you’ll never attach it to an SD TV.
I’m a “serious amateur” photographer. I have a D90 with an 18-200 zoom lens, and I’m amazed at the quality of the pictures I’ve taken with it. I wish I could go back to every place I’ve ever been to and re-take all the photos.
No kidding, right? I haven’t been anywhere exotic since I bought my D90, and I just think to myself… “man, if I had that in England… Malaysia…”
