being European I have argued this with several American women who all defend the notion that women’s breasts and nipples are sexual while men’s are not. They have gone through all the arguments about nerve endings etc. I don’t buy it. It is strictly cultural.
Yes, men (including your humble servant) love women’s breasts but we also love other parts and that does not make them sexual. If I had to choose one part that I had to chose as most appealing and attractive in a woman for me it would be the face. I much prefer a women with a pretty face and ugly breasts than vice versa. No contest. And yet, we do not consider faces sexual (in spite of the many sexual uses of the mouth). My sexual fantasies would involve her face more than her breasts…
Some muslim countries see it that way and make women cover their faces. If you want to be logical that is the way to go.
As for the ultimate sexual parts, the genitals, for me they are useful but do not play so much in the attraction part.

Like a previous poster wisely pointed out – MEN – usually make the laws and most of these concerning sex were made before women were considered more valuable than a plow horse.
Currently, with the propensity of men raping women, I strongly suspect that the no exposure law is actually for their own protection. Men excite far faster than women and where booze is flowing, they tend to loose much rational control unless there are people like big bouncers around or a crowd of much less drunk people.
(I do recall when reluctant sex during a date was not called date rape and accepted. Many a guy I met used to brag about how ‘she’ had passed out because she had too much to drink, so he climbed aboard and did her anyway. I know one girl who passed out at a party and dimly recalled around 4 or 5 guys hopping aboard one after the other while she was out.) {FOR THE RECORD – before I get attacked – I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT DATE RAPE IS OK!}
So, this might be for the protection of the woman. Like, the military is very reluctant to place women in the front lines because captured women can be raped to death.
I have heard that Martigrass (sp)? is starting to clamp down on chicks showing their boobs for beads. (I never minded that at all!) Female breasts, by nature, are designed to stimulate the males. Male breasts do not stimulate the female. Different sexual cues. Do you honestly believe that women are not aroused by the sight of a well-put-together male chest? Are you buying into that old saw about how “men are visual, women aren’t?” C’mon now!
I also question your assertion that women need these laws “for their own protection,” so that they won’t get raped. Rape is about power, not sexual attraction. And saying that restricions are for “someone’s own good” is the oldest trick in the book. Many pro-slavery authors in the 19th century stated that slavery was necessary, because the blacks needed the protection of the master. In other words, slavery was for their own good.
Captured men get raped and tortured too. Saying that women can’t be on the front lines because of the possibility of rape is just more paternalistic bullshit.
But wait it gets even worse.
I was watching a piece on Entertainment Tonight (I know, I know, forgive me) on WRKP in Cincinatti. Apparently the set where the show was filmed was quite cold and they some “difficulties” with Loni Anderson’s nipples. Apparently they just would not behave themselves and kept making their presences known.
Now for the “worse” part I mentioned earlier. Every time the said “nipples” during the piece they BEEPED it. I mean, honestly, you can’t even say the word on television. Absolutely ridiculous. The scandal.
**While both genders do have nipples, only the female nipples get erect (like a man’s penis erection) when she’s sexually aroused. A woman can even reach orgasm just by having her nipples brushed against in a public setting. Imagine a woman walking around in public with erect nipples. Imagine your child asking you ‘…why are her nipples pointing?’ How would you respond? ‘Well… Um…’ (cough). A man’s nipples only get erect if he is cold or if his nipples are rubbed constantly.
