# Nitpicking the Nazi Lampshade column

Cecil’s reply in the column [“Did the Nazis make lampshades out of human skin?”](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/040604.html) includes the following:

As the World’s Smartest Human Being, I’m sure that Cecil is aware that the figure of 5 - 6 million refers to the Nazi’s Jewish victims and ignores the millions of other people who the Nazis methodically exterminated, performed bizarre experiments on and whose bodies they plundered.
