So Bob didn’t squirrel away enough gold bars or other goodies and has to depend on another month’s Senatorial income and benefits? Hard to believe.
According to the article he continues to leave open the possibility of running for re-election as an independent, which could draw enough votes away from the Democratic candidate to enable a Republican to take the seat. That’d be a great way to leave an even more shining legacy.

NJ First Lady, Tammy Murphy has asked not to be appointed interim Senator. So that increases the chance of Andy Kim being named.

That’s not going to happen even if Menendez gets on the ballot. The Trump backed candidate lost the primary. The Republican candidate (Bashaw) has very little statewide name recognition. Bashaw is good friends with Chris Christie so he will get zero help from the Trump lead RNC. Bashaw is gay and pro choice so he won’t have support from the MAGA crowd. I don’t expect Menendez to get more than 1%’of the vote.
In the for what it’s worth category: Andy Kim received almost 400,000 votes in his barely contested primary. The top two Republicans combined got around 260,000. So far I have seen no ads for the race. I’ve seen a few signs for Kim in my red county nothing for Bashaw.

Hopefully not - although 9% of voters were supporting him in the race before his conviction.
That’s a bit worrisome given that the latest polls I’ve seen separate Kim and Bashaw by only 6-7%.

I hope not. As I said, Democrats are down two members in the House right now, and with a margin this small every vote is important. Congress still has to pass next year’s federal budget or a continuing resolution by October 1, and having Democrats as close to maximum strength as possible will be critical to maintaining their bargaining power.

No one is even thinking about the race yet. Any vote for Bashaw is just kneejerk at this point. No one knows him. There was some heat to the D primary until Murphy dropped out. In a few months when they start spending money we will see a better picture. I expect Harris to win the state by at least 12%.
I doubt Menendez will actually do anything to run or get on the ballot. That was his strategy if he was acquitted. He’s set to be sentenced before the election.

I agree. I think the Lt Governor will most likely be the choice. Murphy is term limited out in 2025. Could be a good way to raise her public visibility for the future
