And immediately after that scene, the older version of Kate Winslet’s character describes it as “the most erotic moment of my life.” (It’s not like art and eroticism are mutually exclusive, for Pete’s sake.)
And, I think, because they only showed one breast, and no pubic hair.
So Greek Amazons with Brazilians would get a PG-13 rating?
For Valentines day “a friend” got a book on “massages”. There are a lot of pictures of two people massaging sensually, but in none of them does the guy look at all interested (IE he doesn’t have an erection). My only theory would be that if he had an erection it would be considered pornographic, since he’d be obviously sexually aroused.

Here’s a question I’ve always wanted the answer to:
Are women “supposed” to shave their pubic hair? Is it considered a mark of someone who, er, often has people seeing their pubic area to do so? I never thought it was something like shaving your underarms or legs…and I haven’t gone up to my female friends, looked them dead in the eye, and said “Pardon me, but do you shave your crotch?”

Now, that’s a scary sentence. Enlighten us, are you male or female?
That would be in one of the earlier seasons when he had food poisoning that was giving him some seriously deranged dreams. He dreamt he was in his therapists ofice with an enormous erection stretching his pants out.
He also dreamt that he was talking to a dead fish.
My friend, you just must pop by and read the “Queer Eye for the Straight Crotch” thread. 'Tis not merely women who style their pubes.
Male.
Scary?
Well, ya gotta look at your own my friend or you’ll be peeing on your shoes.
Maybe he likes peeing on his shoes.
Different strokes for different folks and all, y’know.
I really don’t think it is. It’s not an area that’s seen as often as legs and armpits. I think shaving it is creepy because I’ve heard that a man that likes a shaved vaginal area is interested in its… “youthfulness”.
I flipped over to HBO recently and was taken aback by an close-up of a (unerect) penis. They were doing a feature on “Puppetry of the Penis” (a humor type show where a couple of guys get on stage starkers and twist and pull their appendages into all sorts of humorous shapes such as a sailboat of the Loch Ness monster). Lots and lots of penis shots. But, the guys did say you had to absolutely not erect to pull off the penis manipulation and non of the penii were…
Coincidentaly, right now on cnn.com there is an article on challenging the male full frontal taboo.
The article discusses some of the issues surrounding why the pickle shot is uncommon in a non-porn context.
Kinda cool article actually. Slightly off topic, but definitley related.
From the cnn.com article:
I gotta disagree with this. It’s because the target market for most mainstream films is male and the PTB don’t think males want to deal with the sight of another guy’s johnson on-screen. I think it’s homophobia, not sexism.
You know, I would agree with this to some extent. I don’t think women react to nudity the same way guys do (I’m sure this point has been debated many times on the SDMB). So even if the target market is women, having a naked guy won’t necessarily do much for them. (gay guys, on the other hand, would probably appreciate it but they’re a minority and not usually specifically targeted) The film and television industry is ruled by the dollar and if it would make money, I’m sure we’d see an awful lot more male nudity on screen…
Since when can you pee out of an erect penis?
It wouldn’t freak me out, but I can see it bothering other guys. It’s just a dick, for chrissakes.
I think that cnn article overlooked something. When you see a woman naked in mainstream Hollywood movies, Sharon Stone aside, you only see pubic hair, not genitalia. A penis, flaccid or erect, is genitalia. So I don’t necessarily see a double-standard in that regard.
Heh, I just realized if you extended the “pubic hair” only deal to men, actors could only do scenes like the one in Silence of the Lambs.
Ah, it’s just semantics.
Hows about you pee all over your bathroom mirror, and it cascades down onto your shoes. Better?
A male is quite capable of peeing with an erection. If it’s before an orgasm, acrobatics is factored in. If it’s after the orgasm, there will be a slight delay while one switch closes and another switch opens. I’m sure a urologist could explain it better.
I didn’t know that. The one time I tried, only a few drops came out and I got a heck of an ache down there, as if I were making my equipment do something it wasn’t designed for.
