So, umm, when a person goes to college, they can get a Masters in “Actual Science”?
Rubbish. Anybody that follows the scientific method is a scientist. And there are scientific methods of studying EVP. Not everyone believes that it’s caused by ghosts… many look into cross-interference from CB radios and such. Those are scientists. Studying EVP. Getting their work pooh-poohed by a hotheaded broad on a message board.
Thanks for the rude and gratuitious insult in an otherwise fairly civil conversation.
Whatever. As I was saying, a scientific method does not a scientist make. Please tell me the specific, credible, college degree of science one gets for the study of EVP, ghosts, or Big Foot.
As I mentioned above, I am a member of the AA-EVP. Some of our members are scientists and engineers. A lot of them are retired and research EVP as a hobby and have built rather elaborate and complex recording devices on their own. These people might not be publishing their findings in scientific journals or anything like that, but I assure you there are quite a few scientists out there working on EVP. I suppose they don’t particularly feel the need to prove something that they already believe. Most people in our group are involved for personal reasons and simple curiosity, including myself.
Again, I am not saying that there are not people, even retired scientists, that study these things (to debunk or a hobby. . . etc.). I am simply asking for a cite that shows a specific, credible, college degree of science one gets for the study of EVP, ghosts, or Big Foot.
Hobbyists and enthusiasts, like I said. They are not practicing scientific method. When you say that they “don’t need to prove something they already believe,” you say all that needs to be said.
There are individuals with scientific credentials who believe in creationism as well. That doesn’t mean that creationism is science.
