Wow. Don’t your hands get tired? Twelve years is a long time to knead dough!

It is too big I’ll give you that but as long as you don’t try to put anything too large in there and you tie it up. (warning…pork tenderloins are hard to deal with) it’s a pretty cool device.

Mine didn’t come with any bands so I had to figure out the string thing on my own in order to get it to work. I found out that the more expensive kitchen string seems to be identical to kite string…or I could say kite string seems to work fine for rotisserie chicken. 🙂

I know they’re big, but I love them. If yours should happen to “break” because it’s big and ugly and makes funny noises, well my email’s in my profile! 😃 (I lost mine in a break up and I miss it. No, I don’t know where I would store one either.)

How much dressing? Just enough to cover, or the whole bottle? I think that I will have to try this, as I love entrees cooked with Italian dressing.

Pocket sandwich maker. Makes sandwiches in the shape of a pocket? Makes sandwiches _in_ your pocket? Makes sandwiches _for_ your pocket?
So many possibilities.

Or instead of the dressing you could use barbecue sauce. Oh, my, my the goodness.

I love mine! I make pizza pockets lightly brushed with homemade garlic butter on whole grain bread. =D

I’d love a rotisserie thingy too. And a bread machine! And a deep fryer! And a solid cast iron fryin pan for blackening! And one of those really nice Stand-up mixers!

_sigh_ I loves me some cooking gadgets. I need a bigger kitchen, STAT!

Dump the whole bottle. You can use regular or “lite” Italian dressing. It tastes the same with both. As **lorinada** mentioned you can also do this with your favorite bottled bbq sauce. Just dump the bottle of sauce in the crock pot with the chicken. If you don’t want that much sauce (I’m a sauce freak) use half a bottle plus half a cup of water for moisture.

The Italian chicken is really good. It tastes like ya spent all day doin’ something. 😃

[Crock pots](http://www.shopping.com/xPP-Crock_Pots_and_Slow_Cookers) are slow cookers. Are they uniquely an American thing?

I bought my wife one of those things. The difference is that she asked me to.

She used it more or less constantly for a month or so, and then only sporadically. I’m not even really sure where it is at the moment.

> Are you sure? Sometimes you can’t tell for sure whether or not something is broken until you haul it out to the yard and smack it with a large hammer a few times. You might also want to check that it hasn’t become a fire hazard by pouring gasoline on it and starting a fire – just for testing purposes, of course.

Reminds me of the time my ex-husband and I received a gift from one of his friends…it was a flea-market type statue of a black kid that looked like Buckwheat. (Don’t ask me why anyone would give us such a thing, I don’t know.) We had it in the living room (!) for a while because my ex-husband didn’t want to hurt his buddy’s feelings, even though the guy never came over to our house. One day when hubby was at work, I knocked it over with the vacuum cleaner and it broke.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! No, really, I took it out in the yard and bashed it with a hammer until it broke. Damn that thing was hard!

I like my little pocket sammich maker. It makes good ham and cheese pocket sammiches. It’s also good for making little triangle shaped potato pancakes. It, my steamer, my crockpots, my roaster ovens (I have the 6, 10 and 18 quart versions) and my outdoor cooker are my favorite cookin’ apparati. Oh, and my big ol’ grill, my charcoal smoker and my electric smoker. Oh! and my food processor and my big ol’ Kitchen Aid mixer. I got a lot of cookin’ stuff!

But **fcm** , you need a new something to torture, er, bestow on noobs to the MMP!

I have a rotisserie that works with my gas grill. It makes nummie stuff like chickens and pork roasts and such. I don’t have a crock pot or pocket sammich maker.

I inherited all of the above, save the bread machine. I have the [Farberware rotisserie](http://cgi.ebay.com/Farberware-Stainless-Steel-Indoor-Grill-Rotisserie-MIB_W0QQitemZ4405511971QQcategoryZ20675QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), the deep fryer, a selection of cast iron pans (even a skillet with grill ridges in it), a big ol’ honkin’ Mixmaster mixer. And a bunch of other stuff, like the fondue pot, waffle iron, you name it.

Well, you _did_ spend all day doing something, didn’t you? The chicken tastes like you spent all day _cooking_, but you really spent all day reading, or surfing the SDMB, or having sex, or washing the cat, or whatever… I love recipes like that!

And I _want_ a pocket sandwich maker. I wish my MIL would buy me one.

My aunt gave me the sandwish maker many years ago. My husband was briefly enthused about it when I dug it out of a box, but I think we’ve passed his “grilled cheese is the most perfect three times a day snack” phase.

I want a stand mixer, but I don’t have space. A stand mixer with a dough hook. A KitchenAid mixer. Drool.
