But I _am_ fucking biased against people who don’t know the fucking difference between “bias” and “biased.” Four fucking message boards, newsgroups, email lists . . . I see it every place I frequent. Fuck, is it ESL season again or something? I usually don’t botther with getting annoyed over grammar gaffes, and I don’t know why this one is bugging me so much. But ffffuuuuuck. I’m almost starting to believe the kneejerkers who cry about US education going to shit. But then, maybe I’m just bias. ---

For some reason, when someone used “bias” instead of “biased,” I hear it in a thick Japanese “Engrish” accent. Sort of like, “You are so bias because only all your base are belong to us.” ---

Ghod, **Juniper** , “prejudice” is the other one. I swear, on another board last week I actually saw someone use both in one post. Something like “you’re just bias against me, I’m really not prejudice.” So I’m really not insane here? Y’all have noticed these particular misusages lately as well? I swear, I never used to see them, even in the early AOL days. ---

It just doesn’t make sense. Unfortunatly (as we all know) language evolves and I think we’re very likely stuck with the new uses of ‘bias’ etc. Unless we start a popular movement to take back the language (complete with parades and things). There are probably better things to worry about, I just can’t help finding it annoying. Sigh. ---
