The thread is literally called “When did the republican party start being insane”. We’re well past the point of insulting other people’s parties or beliefs; the thread itself is essentially one big insult towards the republican party. Not that they don’t have it coming, but still. Bit of an odd ruling, that one; I’m not entirely sure how it doesn’t straight-up make the thread impossible to continue. I’m also not sure if I can respond to Waymore’s post or not. I read that as - it’s OK to say “The Republican Party is crazy”, not OK to say “You Republicans are crazy” ---

I’ll cop to poorly worded. In my defense it was early. Still, in a thread like that, which generates multiple reports, the best one can do is hold on and try to keep the poor behavior to a minimum. ETA: I toyed with the idea of moving it to The Pit straightaway but decided not to. It is, however, a thread with an extremely high bomb-throwing, incitement-to-riot factor. ---

I don’t understand this direction. The well is poisoned in the thread title, so if you’re not allowed to call another’s party insane, the thread itself doesn’t belong in GD. It’s like saying, “when did [group that 50% of people belong to] become such F’ing A-holes?” but you’re not allowed to call anyone a fucking asshole. The direction is incongruous with the thread. ---

Just move the damn thing to the Pit. Why coddle stupid OPs in GD? Write a stupid OP, it gets sent off to another forum. Don’t want that to happen, don’t write stupid OPs. I mean, look at plethora of one-liner OPs, the “Someone on Facebook said…” OPs, and recently the flood of “Is Islam terrible or just really, really bad” threads we’ve had. That last thing makes one pine for rape month again… ---
