Okay, I didn’t know that. I had thought the Dutch authorities were confiscating a legally purchased firearm and compensating the man for the loss. Compensating him for the loss of a legally-purchased item used in an illegal act is odd, but not beyond understanding. Compensating him for an illegally-purchased item used in an illegal act is weird.

If one bought an illegal gun, probably one or two hundred bucks. They’re a glut on the market here.
