Well, technically there are a few others in the line of succession. The emperor’s younger brother and one of his uncles are still around, so Prince Hitachi and Prince Mikasa are #4 and #5 respectively. However, Masahito, the Prince Hitachi, is 80 and his uncle just turned 100.
