I just realized that there is (at least) one very good reason why so many downtown have revolving doors. Especially on this wind tunnel street full of high rises. Namely, if the building has a door you pull to open, and it’s incredibly windy out, then it’s incredibly fucking difficult to pull the door open to get into the building, and there’s a good chance it’ll slam shut on you when you’re halfway through. Especially when you’re carrying two cups of coffee. ---

I heard this on the radio this morning, and it pissed me off (probably more than it should have). The station I wake up to does an entertainment segment just as I’m lying in bed, wondering why the hell I’m awake at that ungodly hour, and this morning they were talking about how Spiderman is newly single, and how it’s rocking the comic world. The dj lady said something like, “Comic book people, go outside!” I thought to myself, “Who made you the arbitrator of what things we can like? How many hours a day do people drone on and on about mind-sucking garbage like “Survivor” and “Lost?” For the love of god, you start every entertainment segment with the latest update on the slo-mo trainwreck that is Britney Spears, and you have the unmitigated gall to be looking down your nose at comic book geeks?” (Or something like that. It might have been less wordy, since I had just woken up.) Judgemental asses are pissing me off today, apparently. ---

I thought of another one - my current job requires complicated passwords for damned near every program (and the desktop itself), and the programs time out after about five minutes. I spend more time keying in passwords every day… (and this in an office where people leave their wallets and purses sitting out on their desks and walk away from them for hours at a time. Does not compute.) ---

People who say “Urgh, I found out this horrible/disgusting/nasty/sick-making thing today! And it was _this_!” If the entire interest of the story is you really disliked it, why the hell are you telling me about it? It’s clear that they’re not expecting you to have a different reaction to them. So why? ---

[/QUOTE] They are apparently related to the people who say nothing more than “what’s this?” in tones of utter horror or bewilderment. Hey, douchebag, try using a few more of your big boy words. It would be infinitely more helpful and you would get an answer more quickly if you said something like “hey, what’s this large package on the table?” Idiot. Also, while I have your attention, people, flashing your lights behind me to tell me to move over so you can pass is not going to fly when I have 5 cars in front of me and the right lane is bumper to bumper, too. As a matter of fact, it’s probably not going to fly with me under any circumstances. Suck my exhaust. ---
