It seems that as the years went by, they became more lax in sticking to it. Maybe someone who has viewed the first couple of seasons recently can chime in on this. ---

One thing I actually remember, from watch the Pilot, the very first time it aired, was that there was a big clock in the Antique store that Kim went to. The clock of course has the correct, in world, time – just after midnight. Would have loved to have seen more ““Real”” clocks in 24, and not the orange LCD overscreen digital. ---

Or something”. But no, they got right back into CTU-this, president-that, millions-will-die, etc. etc. The only real problem with “24” is that the writers have absolutely zero imagination. Why does every story have to involve presidential politics? Why does every story have to have bad guys and/or some leader from Whocaresistan? And, of course, the biggest: why does every season have to have a CTU mole??? After eight years, god in heaven, why can’t CTU figure out how to do decent background checks on new employees? The writers actually did a really good job in that season (2? 3?) where it looked like the usual CTU mole was in play, but then it turned out the mole was actually working with Jack. That was a good twist that caught me by surprise. I do think that the first couple of seasons were much better (not perfect) at the real time thing. They at least minimized or disguised the events that happened between the end of one episode at 10:00pm and the start of the next episode at 10:00pm. Now, if you actually watch two episodes back-to-back, it’s laughable how much actually happens during that non-time period. ---

**Meeko** , I think Kiefer’s looking a little rough for a prequel. The 24-verse is something like 14 years in from the first season, so now it’s around 2015 or so. So instead of asking us to buy Kiefer as a 30-year-old, I say go waaay back - CTU Babies! Like Muppet Babies, only thigh-stabbier! ---
