I hear what you’re saying. For me, context is important. I suppose this is kind of like the N word for black people - they can use it because it has been used against them to such horrible effect for so long. By that standard, I would feel very different hearing your remark from a Jewish person than even from someone who has a lot of Jewish friends. However, I have no desire to be the humor police. I just felt like I needed to check my reaction to see if I was that far out of touch. ---

I pit whoever decided that the “My Documents” folder should become the “Random Gaming Junk Drawer”. It was bad enough when games were at least putting their stuff into the “My Games” folder. That was technically a subfolder of “Documents” but at least it was easy to exclude that one folder from a sync profile (although notably, Microsoft’s own sync tools always made that a headache. Naturally.) But now it’s just a free for all, with every game I own putting randomly named folders all over the place - some of them still use My Games, so of course there’s no deleting it now - but most of them have folders under their company name, some under the individual game name, some foolhardy souls just have random save folders named a variant of “Saved Games”. It’s chaos! Oh - and some poor bastards are _also_ putting their info under AppData, which is where this mess really belongs. It makes backing up the Documents folder a complete nightmare. I’ve had to create a whole separate subfolder that is strictly for actual, you know, Documents. The name on the tin. Which means I can’t use OneDrive as it’s intended. Well, I mean, I could, if I wanted to clutter up their online storage. Which why the hell not. This mess is their fault for not enforcing standards. ---

Look, I’m not going to read some absurd number of tweets. I doubt anyone is really going to read 40+ tweets on some subject. Take whatever the hell it is you’re tweeting about, write it as two paragraphs, and then go post it on a blog somewhere. You’re supposed to be a journalist, so try to write like one who doesn’t have the attention span of a gnat. ---

Aaacckk! We had record warm temp. In so. Ark. today, 87°. Guess what went out, no not the A.C., My less than 1 yr.old fancy-assed and over-the-top priced Refrigerator, with lovely French drawer freezer and small door just for drinks and snacks. With the unsmudgable charcoal finsh. It hotter inside the fridge than in the kitchen. Of course no one will be here til monday, and I really think they will have to replace it. That means I will have to wait extra days, aaacckkk! Why me ? Oh yeah, I just spent $120.00 on groceries yesterday! ---

Mini rant: people who misuse words. Somebody described a person who is undergoing an ordeal as a “trooper.” WRONG!!! They are not patrolling the highways while wearing a Smokey the Bear hat. The word they’re looking for is “trouper.” ---

Came home today to find a box on my porch. Yay? I open it, and inside is an iPad that I definitely did not order. Some asshole used my credit card to ship an iPad to my house. WTF kind of scam is this??? Apple was good with generating the return labels since the purchase didn’t appear on my Apple account, but the damn labels are still linked to the account used to make the purchase, so I’m on hold again trying to get the return label. :mad: ---

Right. The person I noticed using the word “trooper” was referring to his wife who had to undergo a dental procedure and endured it without complaint. That is indeed the definition of a trouper.
