Stan Lee always said that there was no connection between the Marvel team of superheroes named the Avengers and the recent British television series of the same name. The timing was just a coincidence.

Mick Jagger was less than thrilled that Jann Wenner named his new magazine _Rolling Stone_ back in 1967, even though Wenner seemed to claim that the name was inspired more by Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” and perhaps the Muddy Waters record “Rollin’ Stone.”
