No one is bothered about how the feds got the Nancy Guthrie video

That’s what I was thinking; that the technical staff at the FBI is familiar with how long Google video is stored for. (Although in the other thread, someone linked to an article saying that had the intruder not disconnected the camera, the footage that night would have been overwritten by later footage but because he disconnected it, there was nothing new to overwrite it with.)

That makes sense on the surface, but doesn’t square with it taking them a week to recover the data. I think something is wrong with that theory.

I have no idea although perhaps the video was available to the FBI earlier but today was just when it was first released to the public?

According to the CNN article I linked above, the FBI released it within hours of obtaining it. It would be a weird thing for them to lie about (but this FBI does weird things).

Yeah, the head of the FBI isnt the best choice, by far. But he has LOTS of smart people working there.
