When I have read all of the unread topics shown at the bottom of a thread, there’s a line below them that says, > There is [1 unread](https://boards.straightdope.com/unread) and [11 new](https://boards.straightdope.com/new) topics remaining, or browse other topics in [Cafe Society](https://boards.straightdope.com/c/cafe-society/15) But when I click on that “1 unread” link, there are no unread threads left. ---
