True. However, any comment on appearance (not aesthetics) has the potential to turn sexual at some point. And my point was that if we as a society wish to eliminate the sort of discomfort that women feel in such situations, we should simply stop making those references. And making similar comments about men in such situations simply becomes an excuse for others to say “why not about women when we do it regarding men?”.
Neither. Any male can have a pornstar mustache.
Wait, you’re saying “an understudy in a porn movie” is not “a pornstar”? I thought *all *porn actors were pornstars.
Not exactly. The better analogy would be: you were speeding AND weaving in and out of traffic. Here’s your ticket for those. While I’m here, I’ll let you know that your tail light is flickering. You should get it fixed, but no ticket.
You’re a shining star.
No matter who you are.
Is that was Hitler was going for? It fits the mohawk style.
You heard it here, Hitler was sporting a lip mohawk.
So, writing “NO JOKE” makes it obvious you were joking?
Oh FFS, I thought I made a silly statement (that I’m sure nobody believed) complete with a smiley following along in the next sentence. Next time I’ll put a wink so it’s super clear.
Hey, if people don’t see the humor in a grown adult repeatedly complaining to the mods over rudeness to a hockey team (shades of James Otto’s Sweetheart) then I don’t know what to say…
I have a better idea: how about next time don’t post stupid shit?
Yeah, no. There was no “grown adult repeatedly complaining to the mods over rudeness to a hockey team.” However, there was you, who was following another poster around and dropping turds about the Maple Leafs because you thought it was “hilarious” to do so.
Protip: Nobody but you thought that shit was “hilarious.”
Well, Phil Kessel probably does nowadays.
I’m not sure I’m understanding how that’s the same. He was told, in no uncertain terms, he wasn’t breaking any board rules, but here’s a warning anyways.
Okay man, from now on I promise to only post clear simple affirmations in threads where people complain about not getting dates. (Whee!)
Aww darn, really? Anyway, I admit that I couldn’t believe Leaffan’s team spirit was for real at first, but I’m pretty sure I have left him alone about the Leafs for the last 7 or so years. And yes, I did think it was hilarious that he’s now got moderators involved over a slight on the current Leafs team.
I’d reply but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to.

Agree.
But is the proper societal response to stop all references to appearance, or to stamp down on the sexual comments?
In this particular instance, saying the player has a “pornstache” would probably fly, but trying to be witty, he made it about porn videos. I think avoiding the porn reference would be better. I don’t think the issue was hijacking so much as making sexualized comments. I think if Chronos had phrased it that way, it would have drawn less attention.
