During the **Tuba** situation I was in the middle of trying to join the boards without a credit card. I was asking around and many people were very helpful and it came to pass that I was in email with **Tuba** And she was also very helpful. My thoughts were “nice people and what a nice lady!” This was during the time of the “infamous” thread ( I’m sure you all know which one I’m referring to) and I was following it with interest. I heard a lot of good opinions both pro and con and then came along that one poster who started pushing all my wrong buttons.( I have to say I’m ashamed; I LET him push them) I enjoy a good contreversy and I can sling shit with the best of them but when I’m in polite company I know how to act. However, such was not the case here. I allowed myself to get caught up in the moment and attacked said poster, deluding myself that I was defending the good lady’s name. I realize now that was only one reason. I was pissed! She didn’t need me to defend her, there were plenty of defenders who knew her better and longer than I did. In spite of this, I did a full gainer off the high board and dove right into the middle of it. However my timing left something to be desired. With the exception of this one asshole (sorry, that’s the only way I can remember him) things were starting to calm down. I think **FinnAgain** tried to warn me but I was up and running and nothing was going to stop me. Even common sense. Well someone did! **Mr. Zotti** came on the thread and chewed me a new one (not really that bad) and promptly closed the thread. Well, I was crushed!!! Here I am, a newbie, taking up a cause and fighting the good fight and who gets blamed? ME!!! I pouted and felt sorry for myself and then emailed **Mr. Zotti**. I bitched and moaned and said I was going back to lurker mode, blah, blah, blah… and you won’t have old **GOMMSN** to kick around anymore. Well that was then, this is now. During my self-imposed hiatus I have become very wise. I have assimilated as many old threads as my small brain can handle (mostly in ATMB) and have gained a lot of insight into many of the people here, both dopers and staff. Why things are done, why they aren’t. Some posters quirks and ideosyncracys, how they post, how some of them think on certain subjects. How the mods think (generally they think in like fashion about most things). And most importantly, what to say and what not to say (in certain situations) I feel I am a much better doper now than I was then. In that vein; I wish to publicly apoligize to **Mr. Zotti** for my behavior in that thread. He nailed me and I deserved it! I was in over my head and should have kept my mouth shut. I posted to a couple of threads that held particular interest for me (White Noise)(Staph Infections) and felt if I was going to come out of my stupor that I had to do this. Oh, please before someone says it for me: I realize in the grand scheme of things my ramblings don’t mean squat. However I am selfish, I did this for me as well as you. Thank you for you attention ---

Getting a little nutty when first joining here is pretty normal. I remember posting something like “how could I ever get mad at words that appear on a computer screen” about 20 minutes before a MOD posted something along the lines of settle down you raveing lunatic or you will be BANNED! Took me awhile to learn that the best way out of a pissing match was to stop pissing. Welcome back. ---

Thanks folks, I do feel better having excorcised myself. Never had that need before. I took an hour to decide to post it or not, it seemed sort of _smarmy_ at the time but I figured "What the hell.
