And, really? What evidentiary value do you think exists when Person A says “person B’s car was missing his sideview mirror before I t-boned him!” and the cop writes that down (namely: “person A claimed that person B was missing his sideview mirror prior to the accident”) in his report? ---

Yeah, I don’t think simply being a police officer makes one uniquely qualified to determine the cause of an accident one didn’t see. ---

In fact, our insurance company doesn’t even know that we were rear-ended; the claim was filed with and settled in full by the other guy’s insurance with no involvement at all by our carrier. ---
