I’ll admit I haven’t read any of his work. A few of his novels appear currently to be available for free on Kindle to Amazon Prime subscribers.

I believe you know this, **Elbows** - but the award is not given for a single work but the author’s canon.
I was really hoping **Haruki Murakami** would win, just so I could say I have done some Nobel Prize reading.

My Bad. Thanks for setting me straight, it had completely slipped my mind! When I read the linked articles I thought it very odd they didn’t mention ‘the’ title. I’ve been spending too much time perusing book award lists, for titles. Thanks again.

I actually did read _Red Sorghum_, but only because long ago when the earth was young I took a Chinese class at Duke’s nerd camp for young teens and saw the Zhang Yimou movie in it, and then years later I needed something for a plane trip and saw the book in the airport bookstore. (Very good, mind you.)
