I am very sorry if my use of quote marks has offended you. I do not believe that anyone actually interpreted that as a direct quote from Mr Gore.
Al Gore is my second most favoirte American politician, and as there is little chance of Ralph Nader ever winning a Nobel Peace Prize, I’m going to celebrate. Gore deserves recognition for his hard work to defend the planet, and while some may say that being chosen as President by the American voters is enough, I don’t see how this prize can hurt.
Don’t forget they gave it to Arafat, a great peace-loving humanitarian. That should give some idea of its value.

Nothing against Gore, but I think it would have made a stronger statement if they’d not handed out the award at all.
