I suppose since the Toronto police chief is against enforcing laws against assault, he’d be okay with receiving a severe beating. ---

Well, maybe not OK exactly, but I will assume that if his alleged assailants were directly caught on video beating his sorry ass, he’d be perfectly fine if later on, they decided that they didn’t feel like cooperating with investigators, and the case was dropped. That seems to be how the Toronto Police operate internally, so it must be OK. ---

Hey, if they make it illegal for cops to beat up innocent civilians, who is left to do the job? Really, do we want _criminals_ to be given such a major responsibility? ---

All the links have been to news sources that simply have various police forces and politicians and ombudsmen pointing fingers at each other, with no clear issue, much less how to resolve it.
