I always heard being kicked in the nuts compared to a bad set of cramps, complete with the " I wanna puke" feeling. Which is, as I have heard it, nothing compared to childbirth. I mean, something that big should not go through a hole that small… When was the last time someone died from a kick in the nads? ~C~ ---

This is not a contest. That’s what I said earlier. The thing is that men have no idea what labor is like, but women have no idea what nut crunching feels like. We **can’t** compare and that is the deal. I would personally like to honor all women that have given birth, it must be incredibly rewarding. I also think that the women that believe that labor is no comparison to ball kicking should try to understand that getting hit there isn’t a walk in the park. ---

Please remember pain is not tangeble it cannot be measured accurately by recall or personal judgement. To say men don’t know what they are talking about and you do, would be greatly misleading. Unless you have had both done to you (have you even had **one** of them?) you don’t know how they compare. Even if you did have had both, you would only know them as **you** feel it. However, pain is different, since everyone experences pain differently. ---

Huh. My mother - who, with four children, knows about childbirth - still stays her second heart attack hurt _just as bad_ as giving birth. She has also been pretty clear that not every time she gave birth hurt equally as much. I have heard that from other women who have given birth more than once. There is considerable variation between instances. My sister who had the terrible time while pregnant said that both her labors, while painful, were not as bad as she expected them to be and she was so miserable while pregnant it was a relief as much as anything else to have the baby. Mental state has a huge effect on how a person perceives and deals with pain. Also read an autbiographical story by someone who (barely)survived a bad skydive. She said hitting the ground at 80 mph, breaking every major bone in your body, and rupturing multiple internal organs made the pain of childbirth (which she had also experienced) “feel like stubbing your toe” - painful, but not the most painful possible. So, I would say that childbirth is the most painful thing a woman is likely to experience in life, and getting zapped in the nads the most painful a guy is likely to ever experience. Yeah, I do cringe when I see a guy get it in the nuts. It looks painful just to watch. ---

You are correct that I have had neither done to me, but doesn’t watching hundreds of screaming bleeding women give birth count for some form of experience? Happy to say, however, that I have absoutely no experience in the ball-kicking department. I did watch a girl get her labia sewn back together once after injuring herself in a bike accident. She certainly looked like she was in pain… until the drugs kicked in, and then she was happy as a lark…well, a lark having her labia worked on. Thanks for the understanding, **White Lightening**. ---

But, I also don’t believe it because I’ve been told by several women (some of them nurses) who have had both children and kidney stones that kidney stone pain is much worse. Labor pains come and go; kidney stone pain is constant, and there’s no benefit to look forward to. You want to know how I described the pain when the paramedics arrived to transport me to the hospital with my kidney stone attack? “It feels like I’ve been kicked in the nuts.” —the difference being that the pain from being shoed in the scrote eventually passes. This wasn’t passing. I had never had kidney stones before so I had no idea what the hell was going on. Thoughts like _ruptured appendix_ and _strangulated hernia_ were going through my mind, but the closest description was a hard nard shot. I must say that I certainly am glad for the existence of morphine. ---
