Several years ago a C 130 and an A 10 flew around the Plant homne in the woods.
The A10 had a huge saucer shape on it’s back, like an AWAC.
What was it?

I thought I read once that P-38s would make a whistling noise when in a dive. Not by design, but if it was loud enough for German Pilots to hear in their cockpits it must have been loud.
I used to live in Midwest City near the aproach path for Tinker AFB. Yes, they are loud. I remember seeing the Thunderbirds there on a open house day a long time ago and the T-birds did a supersonic fly over the crowd.

The planes streaked overhead and then a few moments later the sound came by.
Now that was cool.
