I think stories have been explored where the ridler tried not to leave clues behind, but just couldn’t do it. Nolan-izing would probably mean we lose the green question mark suit and bowler hat though. ☹ ---

They could also have Nolan’s take on teh Knightfall series. Introduce Azrael and Bane, break Bale’s back. Yadda yadda yadda. For Bane, I like the idea of using a wrestler again but not overly recognized when he’s unmasked. The movie Iron Man was ruined for one of my friends because everytime the villain/machine opened up all he could think was “But I’m the Dude…” Ewan McGregor for Azrael perhaps? ---

One thing I don’t like is the was the bat-cave has been Nolan-ized. Granted, it makes COMPLETE AND TOTAL SENSE, but it’s odd to see Batman sitting at a desktop computer in an iPod white room instead of a hulking Cray supercomputer in a damp cavern. I mean, why would he keep all his sensitve electronic equipment in an actual CAVE… wouldnt there be dampness problems? Rats? So instead, the “bat-cave” is now a converted skyscraper in downtown Gotham, where bats can jump off the roof, access an underground car-park for the Batmobile… Again, if it’s real-world, you want your base of operations to be in the middle of the action, not fifty miles out in the country, but it just means we’ll never see the giant penny, the dinosaur… ---

What about Nolan’s Mister Freeze? Clayface might be cool just from the “master of disguise” angle. Or it could be False Face, that guy was kinda creepy in the Adam West show. ---

Mr. Freeze: Just make him a guy who uses a gun that shoots liquid nitrogen. Unrealistic, but no worse than the booby-trapped water supply in _Batman Begins_. The Riddler: A dark-green business suit with a question-mark-shaped lapel pin. He could even wear a bowler hat. ---
