When I was a kid, there was a shampoo called Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific. The jingle for it went, “When you use Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific shampoo/Boys say ‘Gee, your hair smells terrific,’ to you!” In the TV ad, a girl walks by a group of guys. Wide-eyed, they turn to each other, presumably saying how great her hair smells. One guy runs off, buys a bouquet of flowers, dashes up to the girl and delivers that line. I nominate everyone in that commercial. Also, IIRC, that shampoo’s still being made–I saw it recently in a catalog. ---

I’m not going to read thru three pages of stupidity so these guys may have already been mentioned… the twins (“Hey Ugly”) who sell the $10 AARP phones. ---

Ooh, I just saw another one. I think it’s an AT&T commercial where the guy complains that he wasn’t getting the price he agreed to, but he was looking at the company phone number. It’s an easy mistake since all prices include 10 digits, parentheses, and a dash. Don’t they? ---

It’s not a dash. It’s a mathematical subtraction function. That’s why he didn’t get the price he thought. 🙂 ---

OK then…how about the “It’s my money and I want it now!” idiots? It’s not their money…it’s the series of payments in the future that they agreed to some time in the past. And what’s even better, the lump sum that those companies will offer make B of A’s $5 a month charge look like nothing. ---

Oh I just remembered this commercial for AAMCO repair shops. Various people are in the shop making noises their cars are making. The various mechanics are saying stuff like “Sounds like your brake pads” or “Probably needs new spark plugs.” Then this bimbo points to her “Check Engine” light and says “What does this light mean?” The mechanic patiently explains: “That is your CHECK ENGINE light.” Good grief!
