In a recent news article announcing the 2002 winner of the Nobel prize for literature (Imre Kertész, by the way), it stated

> [@](#):

> The 18 lifetime members of the 216-year-old Swedish Academy make the annual selection in deep secrecy at one of their weekly meetings and do not even reveal the date of the announcement until two days beforehand. Nominees are not revealed publicly for 50 years, leaving the literary world to only guess about who was in the running.

So which authors were nominated for the literature prize back in 1952? I tried looking at the Nobel site at [http://www.nobel.se/](http://www.nobel.se/), but couldn’t find anything about past nominees.

I’d suggest you contact the Nobel Library (the library of the Swedish Acadmy) and ask them. They should know. Their email address is nobelbiblioteket@svenskaakademien.se
