I’ve noticed this from some Scots I know and also a friend who’s parents came from Columbia and Nicaragua.
It seems no matter how good the team is, after any loss they feel they’re cursed, even if there’s only one loss all year and they win the title. Must be cultural though, as they usually only think this after they’ve been exposed to the Goat curse, curse of the Bambino (Ty Cobb was better anyway 
) ot the black Sox scandal. I follow sports pretty closely and can’t think of any “curses” mentioned outside the US or Canada.
But if there are, please, please correct me. I love following this kind of stuff.
