That Canadians are always polite. I used to live in Montreal so I know they can be as nasty as anybody else. ---

That Canadians are greener than Americans. I think this was largely reinforced by Canada ratifying Kyoto and America not, but the exploitation of the tar sands should put this myth solidly to rest. ---

Bbbbuut they’re baaaaybeees! So a baby seal walks into a club… Some insist that their beer is objectively better than American beer. Molson is a colder Budweiser. Until every brewery is Unibroue, don’t make these claims. ---

That Canadians are just more sensible versions of Americans. If that is the case, how do explain the Pamela Anderson and Justin Bieber types that get exported to American soil with alarming regularity? A single Celine Dion is like the nuclear strike on Hiroshima but we just took it to the chin and continue to do so. ---

The whole idea that Canada is some kind of uniquely arctic paradise (“true north strong and free”) is kind of silly. Sorry, but most of you live south of Seattle and the three territories have a combined population about a third that of Anchorage. ---

And Vancouver is borderline subtropical, albeit a chilly subtropical. You can grow palm trees in coastal BC! ---
