Trump is incessantly mocked for his orange pancake make-up and his reverse raccoon eyes. His appearance has to be 100% deliberate- he has world class beauticians at his disposal, yet he prefers to look ridiculous. How is it to his advantage to look this way? If what you wanted was to distract from your actions, couldn’t there be a less humiliating way? ---

Are you sure it’s make-up? I always assumed it was a just a suntan on his face, with pale spots where sunglasses covered his eyes. Fairly common among golfers. ---

I figured he has a gold-plated tanning bed at the White House. The reverse raccoon eyes are the size of those dinky eye protectors worn in tanning beds. Some days he’s REALLY orange, and the reverse raccoon eyes stand out. I’m sure there are skads of make up artists at the ready who could get rid of the white eyes and tone down the neon of his orange face, but he walks on water and knows everything he says or does is perfect. Perfect cartoon. South Park does a good job of parody. ~VOW ---

He thinks he looks better that way. It’s the way with his ill fitting suits and long ties - he’s said he believes he looks slimmer that way. No other explanation needed for it. His own opinion is that his skin tone denotes health. Though, if I recall correctly, Kellyanne Conway attributed the orange color to good genetics, rather than makeup. ---

Anyone else remember _Close Encounters_ after Roy got home from the railroad crossing? Ronnie wanted him to use spray tan on the other half so both sides would be orange. Trump is too impatient to use a tanning bed so he sprays it on. ---

awesome pic there @Skywatcher! That’s not tan-cream. When he looks into a mirror the ego-rays beaming out of his face are so strong they bounce off the mirror back into his face and and burn him with their fiery intensity. If his mirrors weren’t gold-plated he might even set the mirrors on fire. The good thing about ego rays is they may be powerful but they have a very short range, just a couple feet max. At least for the 70% of US society that isn’t totally Trumpified. The 30% folks seem to happily soak them up no matter how attenuated they are by distance and other aspects of reality. ---

At this point, looking like a jack-o-lantern is part of his brand. Back around the election, I read something by a makeup artist who was working the Republican debates, and tried to suggest toning down Trump’s orangeness, but was told no, because people expect him to look like that. ---

Maybe “people expect him to look like that” is the excuse they were given, but that makes little sense. Trump’s look is expected because he’s long thought his skin looks good that orange color. Could he have cataracts? They can make everything look brownish. Not that that would explain the weird hair and oversized clothes. ---

Check the palms of his hands. In the 1970s, kids would use QT self tanning lotion. If they didn’t wash their hands IMMEDIATELY after applying, they not only had orange, streaky tans, but weird colored palms and fingers. ~VOW ---
