I got a nice Wonder Woman bandaid. After work I ate Brownie Brittle at Mom’s house. What do I get if I didn’t have any paperwork to fill out? Just told the Nurse the company was paying for it and got my shot. If you don’t know what brownie brittle is, it’s cookies, that come packaged in a bag like potato chips. And they’re basically the crispy crunchy edges you sometimes get when you make brownies. This batch is also flavored with salted caramel. ---

I would just like to point out that I got my flu shot yesterday, and once again I DID NOT GET A SUCKER! I was a very good girl, too. 😠 I would have accepted a pina colada, since I _am_ a grown-up, at least nominally. I didn’t even get a Wonder Woman bandaid. Hmph. ---

Sigh… Sometimes, Sometimes I wish, Sometimes I just wish I had Beck’s facility for turning daily family frustrations into amusing stories. I swear, (and it would be the perfect capper to the year for me) I’m going to have an ulcer induced heart attack triggered by a stroke, brought on by having to explain, argue, cajole and use the Dad Hammer for every. Little. Damn. Thing. I tell Vaderling to do. “I’m getting you up extra early in the morning, turn the video off, leave your phone out here and go to bed and get to sleep” “Why?” This devolved into an unpleasant half hour. Kids, can’t live with 'em and child labor ain’t legal no more! ---

Oh and Boo, there’s no need. My parents have always been somewhere on the plus side of health conscious (sometimes more, sometimes less) since Dad was diagnosed with High BP and hypertension …🤔… wow! 44 years ago. Just in time for his birthday. It left indelible marks on my 6yr old self. Most prominent at that time, salt left the dinner table. Yeah, they take their health seriously enough for a couple that want to enjoy life but not live forever. And who give a crap about people beyond their own circle ---

So, last night, I was going to try to be good, so when it was getting close to midnight, I was about to turn off my computer and the TV, and head to bed (at least an hour earlier than usual). And, that was when the news about Trump testing positive for coronavirus hit. So, I wound up staying up until after 2am, watching the news. Been a little groggy all day, but had a good online D&D game with some friends tonight, and now I’m hoping to fall into bed soon and get some actual sleep. ---

I actually did go to bed at a reasonable hour. And, then, woke up to my wife saying, “I hate to be the bearer of bad news all the time, but…the furnace isn’t working.” It’s only 6 years old, and while it turns on, it shuts back down after a few minutes. Thankfully, it’s not tremendously cold here today. Waiting for the furnace repair guy to come out. Ugggh. ---

Whoa. Such is the age of electronics! I can understand the _reasoning_ behind that edict in the divorce decree, but that doesn’t help much when dealing with a hardheaded teenager. (Remember, they aren’t human yet…) If communication is feasible with his mom, you might present a joint effort, that the two of you will confiscate his phone, and said “reasonable communication” is to be done on the phone of either parental unit. Ugh. I remember well the ogre years. I repeatedly used the “my house, my rules” threat constantly. My mother beat me over the head continually with that line.
